Contemplating the quietness of nature, with the glow of the pre-summer sun filtering through burgeoning plant life out the back, my thoughts seem to inevitably wander to the remarkable balancing act nature often does- and that we also do daily as artists, mothers, friends, just by living, being a part of something. ... so. ..I suddenly find myself extremely busy. The portrait of my Dad has been picked as one of the many semi finalists for the Doug Moran Portraiture Prize. Off I go then, to pack, deliver and wait to see what will unfold.
Meanwhile, I thought I would post a picture of my latest portrait entitled 'Curtis, 21'. getting on with my commissioned basket. so far it has meadow hay, reeds, Peaceful Bay coastal grass and soon to be added, chlorophyl dyed silk and muslin. .... I definitely have a green thumb, now! Amazing colours in nature. ..
