Contemplating the quietness of nature, with the glow of the pre-summer sun filtering through burgeoning plant life out the back, my thoughts seem to inevitably wander to the remarkable balancing act nature often does- and that we also do daily as artists, mothers, friends, just by living, being a part of something. Links of all types have always held a fascination for me - it's also something which I find immeasurably hard to sort through in my own head, and then there's the need to contemplate, process, express in the physical sense. It has never ceased to amaze me, when I look back at the days end, how many small 'events' have occurred. So often we complain about there not being enough hours in one day, yet we often manage to fill them all - often at the expense of time to just be. How can I, whose creative work depends so much on those gentle moments, not appreciate the importance of the quiet spaces in between? They are a necessary link to balance the continual spinning of hours spent 'doing'
