Midsomer Murders. I must confess to watching many a re-run of this formidable British whodunnit...... And frankly, I felt like killing the sun last Friday. It is midsummer here in Western Australia, and it reached a balmy 42 degrees at 6pm in the evening....47 degrees through the day. Interestingly enough, on the above mentioned evening, I had dropped off some work in an exhibition entitled 'Leave Them in the Ground' - an exhibition about fossil fuels... My work for this harnessed the massive energy of the sun, which I used to solar dye turmeric onto small calico bags. You may remember a couple of posts back, where I had an image of shibori tied fabric....well....here is the final product of that wonderful union. Once again, letting nature do it's work - in it's own sweet time...a more in depth explanation of the hows and whys can be found below....41 bags later....I realise I did not take a collective image of them all laid out together...in the event that I have sold nada at while the show is on, I shall do it when I get them home!! ![]()
